Hi,

is there a function which sends the device into standby mode?
I want to send the device into standby without using the power switch.

I don't think that it is possible. You can however change the brightness to a very low value with Phone.SetBrightness.

As I see it, it is always better to start a new thread...

You cannot simulate a press on the power button. You can wake the phone with PhoneWakeState.
