Strange keyboard and app behavior

Issue 1

I have a webview displaying a Facebook login page that I am testing on various devices. On my Samsung transform phone (with the physical keyboard closed), the screen keyboard does not open when I enter the username / password fields. This does not happen on my other devices.

Issue 2

Somewhat related to the above..the transform phone has a physical keyboard, when I open the keyboard, the app closes. My Activity Orientation property is set to Portrait only. When I turn the phone to landscape (to slide out the physical keyboard), the app closes.

Issue 1 seems like a specific issue with this device.

Issue 2, I understand the the app crashes, right? You should check the logs and find the error message.

Sometimes for reasons I don't understand, android OS seems to ignore the orientation setting. Happens to me occasionally, I see a screen set to portrait rotate, thus getting my app to have problems. Seems like this happens when the OS is overloaded.
