Actually, no, it still does not work even with an updated ControlsEx.dll (14 March).

Alternatively I am doing something stupid - could someone help me?

Sorry, I didn't explain it properly.

I just put in a textbox so that I could see whether the tabcontrol could be brought in front of another control (using the BringToFront command).

Which it can't
