Transparent .gif?

I have a logo supplied in .gif form to me from a company I'm doing an application for. In the desktop IDE I place it in an image control and give it its correct blue background - and everything looks OK. When compiled for device, the transparency of the .gif turns white. Am I omitting something?

Transparent gifs are not supported on the device.
However you can convert this image to an image with a solid color background and then use a disabled ImageButton or ImageLib library to draw this image and make the background transparent.

:signOops: Erm, for this tranparent .gif, I just spent two minutes with MS Paint and coloured the background. Thanks anyway Erel.
