Using a customdialog for a login screen

I have found some great examples of using the custom dialog to display when my app starts to validate a login and password using mySQL with PHP script submitted with the HttpUtils2.

Everything seems to work fine other than once they hit the Ok/Login button, the model customdialog goes away and the main app starts before the jobdone can come back with the authentication. Has anyone else been able to hold the customdialog on the screen until their credentials can be validated?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

You should not use a modal dialog. You should instead show a non-modal dialog (a regular panel). Then you will be able to remove the dialog when the job completes.

Another option is to show an uncancellable progress dialog until the result arrives.
