Android Question VoiceRecognition, waiting for a command

Hi everybody,
I'm wondering if I can wait, in a APP of my own, for a spoken words, a sort of vocal command.
It should work in background if possible...
I have to perform some task handsfree, so this could help a lot.

It is not possible with the VoiceRecognition object from the Phone library.
