Which tablet to Buy

It depends on size and features you are looking for. Asus has the Eee Pad Tranformer 10.1" with HoneyComb 3.2.1. It has two cams, one front one back, SDcard, Mic, Video, GPS, etc. It's loaded, about the only thing missing is 3G or 4G but for 399.00 I don't think you will beat the deal. In all most any review I have read, they say it's the best bang for the buck! I think I agree.

which is the best tablet??

Got to agree with Margret. I use the Asus transformer with the keyboard dock. its awesome for just about anything. Had it for 6 months and I cannot fault it.

Before buying an Asus Transformer, be sure to see this page. The quick summary is that a new quad-core AT running ICS is due out soon and that as a result, the current AT is being bundled with the dock.

I'm pretty sure the galaxy 10in is the most popular one out there. I would want to own what most of the users are using...

I went with the Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1 (Wi-Fi Only) – 16GB
because it had the "dual processor" and "Camera with Flash" and
a high resolution front camera.

So overall it will be good for testing for my purposes, thanks everyone.

The Vizio 8 inch tablet, available at Costco for $189.99 is a good deal. Nice size screen, makes developing a lot easier. Mine works well, the screen is bright and sharp!

"Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" was $399
and Erel uses it also, so for tech support of developer (basic4android)
related questions, it's nice to use the same unit when asking questions
on this forum...

I noticed the $199 tablets are usually 7 or 8 inch units
with less memory and single cpu, which is good on a budget..

I am sure there is even $99 units too out there...

I'm sure that, if this has no place here, EREL will delete this post...

I've been looking to buy a tablet, but I am "on a budget" sort of speak, as my salary is almost alway completly gone, by the 15th each month...still, I look at what is out there...
Found This site..www.dhgate.com ...wich is a wholesale site, with some quite interesting "offers"...

Is Kindle Fire suitable for a B4A developer?

The Kindle Fire at $199 will get a lot more people into tablets (and more people we can sell to). But will B4A work with it? It runs on Android 2.x and does NOT have a camera or microphone. I am assuming it will run Android apps from places other than the Amazon store.

Is it too underpowered for a B4A developer?

Yes, B4a developed apps will work on the Amazon Tablet
You just need to become a developer with them

https://developer.amazon.com/help/faq.html

It's a simple signup, not sure if it's USA *only* based or international developers too though..

I've been reading their requirements. International developers will get paid once their app sells more than $100 and they pay by check. There can be a 30% withholding fee by the U.S. govt.

What is the payment structure between Amazon and me?
Amazon pays developers 70% of the sale price of the app or 20% of the list price, whichever is greater.

Does this mean if the app sells for $10, Amazon pays the developer $7? (Assuming the software is not discounted).

The Kindle Fire is a branch of Android, so will the Kindle Fire run Android apps from anywhere, or is the user limited to only running software downloaded from the Amazon store?

Do note the Kindle Fire, does not have a microphone, camera,
and has only 512mb instead of the standard 1gig ram, and
also only 6gig user storage, no cable to sync to pc, no access
to android market, only amazon app store. No MicroSD card slot.

I am pretty sure this is a closed android unit, not allowing
installs of .apk's too

Maybe it's a good testing device if you plan on selling
apps through the Amazon App Store and want to see
how your app functions from the eyes of a Kindle Fire
tablet.

Remember Apps need to be approved first before they
go live from the Amazon App Team unlike the Android
market.

It's a beefed up kindle running Android OS (Ice Cream)
that connects to the Amazon App Store Only.

I bought a super cheap tablet (APAD M719) at ahappydeal.com which is some sort of Chinese website and it is really poor. The Wifi works about 5% of the time, and the resistive touch screen isn't sensitive enough to use your fingers. I use a golf tee as a stylus. It does have functional bluetooth which is primarily why I bought it and it has been useful for development, I guess. Oh, and the charger blew up a week after I got it. So much for trying to save a few $$$.

I've got a Notion Ink Adam, but it won't be to everyone's liking and isn't mainstream.

:)

Re Kindle Fire, your App will need to be on the Amazon store and take note of the screen rez and App softbar... I had an email last week about it from them. The approval process is quite simple and quick, but my App is free, AdMob supported.
