Who else notice feedback %

I've noticed an annoying feedback pattern with people.

Most people just do not leave feedback for app on the Play store(compared to the active installs), a very small percentage of people do leave feedback though. People also go out their way to leave bad feedback if they do not understand something pretty simple.

Example:
I updated an app on the Play store to only use the selected WiFi for updating online servers when available. I put clear instruction on the screen and also in the notification area as a warning to select your WiFi. But no, some people just can't read simple text instructions and thus complain that the app no longer works, even though in bold bright red text the app tells people to select their WiFi network for the app to work correctly. What's the matter with some people, are they blind or basically just stupid. There's just no accounting for some people

That's my rant for the day, I'm now going out for a game of snooker...

I have been selling online for over 15 years. In all that time I have heard exceptionally from satisfied customers. But most of the feedback I got was from people who could not understand the simplest things. And always mention how frustrated they are. Must be awfully frustrating to be an idiot

That's about right.
I've been selling invoicing software on my website for years and have had really good response from people who download my software. But it appears that when it comes to apps, especially free apps, not enough people leave feedback when the app works for them. But the slightest of issues and there they are with their 3/5 stars saying rubbish like(I would leave 5 stars but...). Lies, they didn't leave any stars until they had an issues of their own making.

Peter you are right. The cheaper the app, the nastier people get. The worst comments I ever got was from a guy who considered I was not right to sell software he could get for free as shareware. Go figure

I think the 'star' system needs to be balanced out with the number of downloads or something.
As has been said above, 90% of the users download and use it and never post anything...
The software is working for them.

Also too, user's have become spoiled. Think back 20 years ago.

Sad but true.

I know the rules as 80-20 , people satisfied by your work does not care about you having bad reviews ..from his point of view he is satisfied with your work ..if he misses something that he want then he goes to review and comment your app.
True is that you expect more reviews you must add option to rate app or ask from time to time ... people often rate app to get rid of this message .
People rate bad as a relief of his understanding the app .. and say ok I am mad because I do not understand how this works ..but now a fell much more better as I rated 1 star ...

I am not worried about 1 star rating ... its true that your average will drop but take this exaple
50 - rated 5 stars
40 rated 4 stars
5 rated 2 stars
20 rated 1 star

When I look at this rating then I should say to myself ... there is something good in this app but are users that are not understanding how to use it .

When I want to give a bad review I never hit 1 star .. but 2,3 stars I consider to be worst enemy

Back in 1993 the Internet was still confidential, and people connected by modem mainly to text services such as Compuserve, Bix or AOL, or the network of BBS. Shareware and freeware where around through these services but one had to be educated to know where to find them, and how to use them.

The key is education. Today, users enjoy unprecedented ease of access to software, prices have never been so low and no need to learn the ins and outs of technophilia. The result is that complete ignorants go and fetch apps without having the first clue, and they freak when their brain cannot comprehend the program. Educated users would make the elementary effort to try to understand, morons simply rate bad the app to comfort their ridiculous ego
