I'm ordering too many things for the Pi: Cables, boards, power supply, connectors, modules (like a "5$-small-wifi-I-can-do-all-4-you" - module)... See my next tutorials about it.

Wifi is simple. It is not different than any other network based example.

Colleague bought one last year to do some testing here.

for me the speed was a big dissapointment but that was when using it as a kind of thin client to connect to an RDS server.

should operate well to controll hardware tho or to act as web/ftp/smb server tho.

Seeing the low price in relation to the speed and it's size it's absolutely cool.

it depends on what you want to do.

for what we needed you can get Android devices that are more powerfull for the same price including lan/wifi and usb/vga/hdmi/audio ports.

but I guess it's better for IO things compared to Android+IOIO as there are more extra devices for it (LCD screens, additional IO controller extention cards etc)

I use it as a "worker" to get/set GPIO-data or do some other things (non-ui) and a B4J/B4A App as the Remote for it. Perfect combination.
