Android Question Why does variable value show in Log, not in Debug

I have been away a very long time and so may be asking a stupid question.
During a screen rotate and so in Activity_Resume, I am monitoring a tForm using Debug (Rapid) and also Logging it.
The value is shown via the log but does not show any values in the variables window at the bottom of the IDE.
The value shown by the log is correct. I cannot see any screen refresh, if that is a requirement.
Will somebody enlighten me please.

Can you post a screenshot with the debug variables and the logs?
