B4J Question Z-push

Hi,

As I'm always looking for custom development push possibilities on mobile devices, I am aware push possibilities are limited on iOS (APN and exchange mail are the only possibilities I know of).

Z-push is an opensource implementation of the Exchange protocol. I can set up a push environment using z-push and dovecot (link through imap idle) and providing messages through lmtp (to dovecot).

Z-push is HTTP(s) based and, at first sight, relatively easy (some important caveats however).

Does anyone know of a .NET implementation of z-push or (even better) interested in creating a B4J (server) implementation ?

Sending push messages with Firebase is very simple. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to implement.

Thanks for the info. In the past I managed to get the APN messages working. I guess the messaging of Firebase is also based on APN for iOS ?

Yes. There isn't any other push service in iOS.
