I read somewhere MS spokesman said about LLM for Copilot, "If it is on Internet, it is public"
So you see, the big houses always twist the rules for their own benefits, no matter what the rules are for general public.

I found Copilot good if we ask MS related code problem like .Net
It has all MS code base I think.
I feel that .Net programming languages are declining. Am I wrong?

Copilot is among the worst
I find copilot quite good to work with, especially when I guide it quite a bit in the conversation.

Just started trying ChatGPT-5 while it's free. It does feel pretty fast, and probably slightly better comprehension.

I kind of agree with that statement... if you share it, for free, it's public domain.
That is why sites like photo bucket only let you "see" low res watermarked images so you buy full res no watermark ones.
If you share code (un-compiled), then it's automatically public domain. Compiled code, however, is another story... and again, it's up to the owner to enforce ownership!

FOSS, free as in beer, free as in speech, open source licence, credits and accreditation are concepts that many fail to understand and acknowledge.
This topic is less popular being discuss here too. Someone is free to use the work published by some kind people but there are rules that should be respected and follow the permission granted. Not all softwares have same open source licence.
No, it is not about compiled code or not.

I guess that applies to stuff in GitHub as well - which, if I remember properly, MS owns?
I don't think so, or else it would have been dropped a long time ago by all major companies that use it... this said, "private" github are always better than public ones

AI reads private GitHub repo too, if I read the news correctly. There is privacy concern.
There is a news recently about MS going to make GitHub less independent as the CEO is leaving soon.
