My sincere condolences to our French and European members of the forum. and to all of us.
Good lord
This is something that can not be believed or understood easily.. why? Paris and its peace loving residents, beauty and art walking on the street.. absolutely doesn't deserve this.

May God rest in peace the souls of those innocent victims.

I don't even understand the logic. They probably do that in retaliation to our intervention against the ISIS, but their attacks will do amplify the desire to eradicate them. They have not the slightest chance to win anything. It's a logic of self-destruction.

@Beja Thanks for your wise and kind words.

I don't understand your logic: do you think they have some logic? Crazy people do not have logic.

They kill in the name of A God (who should be able to kill anyone at will) and they bravely kill unarmed people
(more or less as USA do:
"Have we destroyed a hospital full of sick civilians? Oops, sorry".
Or like Nagasaki and Hiroshima.)

It's all logic and normal.

[Note thant few months ago ISIS have killed about 280 people through a unique suicide attack but since this did not happen in the "West" (Europe or USA), it does not care enough for our journalists]

[EDIT: they were only 115 (but you know, journalists use random numbers)]

if you think that if the west (USA) will kill all ISIS members (that they have created by them self) then the world will be again safe, then you are wrong.
this is not a war against ISIS or AL Kaida or Hizballah or Hamas,.... This is a war against religion and believes.

if they belive that a "SHAHID" is the highest level a person get reach then kill him does not fear him because he wants to die and kill as much people as possible with him together.

I also dont know what you mean with "winning". if you think to win a war is who killed more, then this is wrong.
win a war means who reached his goals, also if you loose all your soldiers but you reached your goals you are the winner.

and their goal is to create fear. and they do it very well. after shooting the russian plane in sinai no airplane company wants to flight to sinai.
this is in my opinion a big win for them.

if people now are scared to go out in paris this is a win.

i am very sorry for all people in the world and their families especially for the france people but i have the fillings that this is only the start. Europe will know more days like this because they dont want to weak up and face the real issue.

I meant: what do they win by doing that? Fear? Let me laugh. It's far from being the first attack in Paris and when I was living in Paris, I never thought "oh my god, I could be the next...". It's not fear that leads to decisions like stopping flights or closing frontiers, it's just caution. I never felt something like fear around me. An attack is so uncommon, so random, that you have a lot more chances to die in a car crash.
What do they want to win? A war? Then go where the war rages. Unless I'm wrong it's very far from France.
What do they want to achieve? To convince muslims to join their cause? But they inspire only anger and sadness to most muslims in France. I heard many times muslims calling ISIS: "the so-called Islamic state".
To make the tourists flee from France? France is the first touristic destination in the world, and Paris is the first place. So that could be a goal. But just take a look to the past. As I said, it's not the first attack. Did the other attacks make everybody flee? Absolutely not. Did the tourists flee from New York after the plane attacks? Neither.
They cannot win anything because there's nothing to win, except maybe the islamic paradise. LucaMs and you are right: it's irrational. Trying to understand is pointless.

now it's probably a revenge for the (comming?) air attacks by french air force.

Belgain minister said this week that they will join that action so we might have our part here aswell.

Next thing will be the revenge for killing that guy who decapitated several people.

Then the revenge for the killing of the 8 who did the massacre in Paris.

so it's a viscious circle.

you should take them more seriously. fear is the best cause for caution. if people would think that it could happen also to them they will be more vigilant.
i am not saying you should stay at home and dont go anywhere i am only saying that if you will understand that it could happen also to you there is a chance you could
prevent the next terror attack.

btw. by saying "you" i dont mean you specifically, i mean everybody including me

this may be true. i think the only way to destroy those terrorist is by destroy their financial resources. did you know that ISIS is selling oil to whole the world (through third party) http://www.businessinsider.com/isis-selling-oil-to-biggest-enemy-2015-11

so in the end its all about the money and oil!

one thing i really dont understand.

you can see that ISIS is investing a lot in their videos they upload to youtube (see the execution of the jordan pilot)
so how could it be that you can find endless ISIS video in youtube??
youtube only serve their purpose

hmmm maybe MONEY. those videos got millions of views and that means lot of ADs clicks...

It's not at all what I wanted to say. I take this threat very seriously and it doesn't make me laugh. It's just that the fear caused by an attack can last several hours or even days, but no more. It's a short term effect that has no major consequence on our everyday life (I'm not talking about the trauma of victims which may be for life). So trying to instill fear is a nonsense if the threat is not permanent. You cannot be serious if you say that you do these attacks to create fear. A poll conducted just after the attack in January showed that the major concern of French was unemployment! That does not mean that people are not vigilant. People are not stupid. And the french government does its best to prevent any other attack.
Last year, a colleague was shot in the face at the door of my office by two guys who wanted to steal his car (he survived). I fear more these violent assaults than an attack because they could happen at any time (and they happen many times a year where I live).

you must know that in war also innocent people die, the difference between both acts are that russia or usa or any other country attack terrorist and sometimes there are mistakes but terrorist ALWAYS attack innocent people!

terrorist use innocent people as human shield, they place their weopons in civilian areas and hopping they won't be bombed and like this they still can fire rockets on you.

there is also another difference, you as many others when they see those images they fill sorry (btw me too), but when those "innocent" civilians saw images of 9/11 they went to the streets to celebrate the death of 1000's innocent people. https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ8k

celebrations after paris attack: https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSzZcVDK2WM

Yes, there is a big difference between a massacre carried out by "mistake" and a cowardly terrorist attack.
But it is anyway 44 innocent people dead.
In addition, there have been many terrorist attacks, carried out not only by ISIS, of whom "media" have not spoken for weeks but for seconds.

I might also add that much popular mobilization should take care of the homeless who die from cold and hunger, in Paris, Rome, London...

In general, the human being is hypocritical.

I agree with ilan in defining the core problem, but I don't know what exactly he is suggesting to solve it.
Muslims (as all humanity on this planet today) indeed have a problem of reconciling with today's environment. So they either
move fast and reconcile their social life with the requirements and rules of this new environment, or leave
history for ever, like all creatures who failed to reconcile with the changes in their environment.
But this will continue to be their problem and not a western or eastern problem.. no one can erase a whole population the size of
Chinese people from the earth.. and no one can force them to change their beliefs or faith. That's not going to happen.. But those
nations who already found a solution for their problems, they can help Muslims in certain ways to expedite the process of
integrating and reconciling with this new environment, and at the same time defend themselves against those Muslims who moved it
from just a belief and thought to application and acts. So it's help-hit process.

"fear is the best cause for caution."

All I know is that if someone bombed my Country, of course I would not love those who bombard me.
Moreover, we all know the reason of the bombing: oil.

Summit to global warming:
1) in the '30 scientists thought that the Earth began to cool!
2) the real reason is that the industrialized countries fear the industrialization of emerging countries (for economic reasons, of course).

As regards religions, between a couple of centuries they no longer exist;
thanks to genetics, human beings will become eternally young (scientists will find ways to prevent cells from becoming old).
So it will be clear that a life after death does not exist and, consequently, all religions will be proven wrong.

It is better to "talk" of programming; indeed, it is better program.
