Android Tutorial Android - Virtualbox

Hi to all,

I´m not sure if this information is useful...
I was not satisfied with the emulator and started looking for something different.
At Redirection you can find readymade images of android you can easily import into Virtualbox.
The performance is not great- but it´s enough seeing how my app reacts under different versions of android.

I've recently started using Bluestacks which seems to be very good, fast and stable. I'm sure there will be some issues with the more exotic areas of the OS but it's free whilst in Beta and if it's not too expensive once released, I think it'll be worth keeping for those times I don't want to break out the real device.

There is a slight issue around orientation but there are some apps on google play that will help with that.

Once installed the ADB server just finds it.

I use Virtualbox too. It's very useful!

I use VMWare and images found at Android-x86 - Porting Android to x86
Problem is, since there is no remote desktop app for Android, you have to work inside the virtual platform management tool, VSphere Console in case of vmware.

Also I've found a x86 Android image for ICS with Ethernet driver here

In VMWare we have all the development platforms we use, too.
