Android Question AppCompat library issue

Hello guys, please I just installed b4a 6.50, and I am trying to test the examples on this post: https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/t...-2-using-the-appcompat-library.48424/#content. but i get an error of b4a_appcompat library not found in additional libraries folder the moment I load the example. I have searched this forum and google but non mention how to get the b4a_appcompat library. thaks ***Smiles***.

tried that but the problem persists, I have already copied the AppCompat.jar, AppCompat.aar and AppCompat.xml files to my additional librariesfolder. and i have done this "In Android SDK-Manager be sure that the "Android SDK Build-tools" 23.0.3 is installed!" but the compiler still get "but i get an error of b4a_appcompat library not found in additional libraries folder" the moment I load the example. and this if i compile.

Do you have an #AdditionalRes: ......\b4a_appcompat line in the example project? Remove it (or download the examples again). This line was removed somewhere in july or august last year from the example and is not needed anymore.

BTW: You can now use the latest Build-Tools (25.x) and are not restricted to 23.0.3. I will change this in the posts.

Carefully read and follow the Instructions for the AppCompat library.

I guess you are referencing a too old android.jar in Tools->Configure Paths. (See step 5 of the "setting up the library" instructions)

If you had done all things right you wouldn't get the errors. I still think that you have configured a too old android.jar.
Which platform versions have you installed with SDK Manager and which one have you configured in Configure Paths dialog?
You must provide more information if we should help you.

You don't need to repeat the same error message again and again.

From my post above:

I guess you are referencing a too old android.jar in Tools->Configure Paths. (See step 5 of the "setting up the library" instructions)

From the AppCompat libarary setup instructions:

5. Make sure that you reference the latest android.jar in the IDE under the "Tools/Configure Paths" menu. Don't worry. The android.jar is only used for compilation. It does not mean that you can't run your app on lower Android Versions. The Support libraries require to compile against the same API version as the library itself. So for Support library 25.xx which is the current now you should compile with API25 android.jar.

Guess your mistake.

My Mistake: Imagine after several months of using b4a I still didn't know that android.jar version is determined by Android API level and not by the Android Build tools version. I downloaded API version 25 and uninstall version 19 and everything now works like magic.
