Android Question AppCompat Menu In Android 11

With previous Android versions the AppCompat menu appeared fine at the top of the screen below a 20dp high panel that permitted the status bar to remain visible. In Android 11 it seems that the status bar has grown to 24dp high and now overlaps the menu bar.

I am updating a mature app that predates B4X pages and have no desire to rewrite the app incorporating pages. Is there a work-around so the AppCompat menu top is always flush to the status bar regardless of the version?

Thanks Erel, that example works fine on my new Samsung S21 Ultra device running Android 11. I will use that.
