Is it possible to simulate / action a hardware button from a service?

1. Could i LongClick the shutter button on my phone to wake it and launch my camera application

2. Check to see if the camera was active

3. Click the shutter button again to take a photo

4. Go back to sleep and Do it again later

It sounds like I cannot really control one application from another unless i have control of both, but if i could just initiate a shutter key press, that might be enough.

This is not possible. However you can use PhoneWakeState (Phone library) to wake the phone. And you can use the Camera library to take photos.

Ah well, i was afraid of that. It's security / architecture related and not a B4A issue i assume.
