we've just discussed in the chat the age structure of the b4x programmers, being around 40 in average - we guess. so we start a poll.

I think we came here because of the initial reference to BASIC so our average age seems logical. In my opinion as we used it in the past (reference to VB and VBA) we were happy to find a workaround to learning Java.
At 47, I am still unable to understand what Experts here are doing with wrappers, inline Java and blabla ; so I am always happy when b4x allows me to do things quickly without having to deal with 'another logic I am not already used to'.
Even other tools I do use for other tasks are similar to b4x language structure.

I know Java (without modern features but language basics I know), C++, but I love to use B4x tools because they let me know one language and re-use much common code on several platforms. F.e. I don't have to learn Objective-C to develop iOS apps. Besides, Apple now encoureges developers to migrate from Objecive-C to Swift and I am even happy :), that I didn't spend time learning Objective-C :)

Yep. Sad, but true. At the end of WW2 (about 70 years old people) you see a sudden decrease of population. After it (the "Wirtschaftswunder") a lot of babies were born. With the birth control from the 6/7ies there was a huge decrease of new borns. Due to changes in the people's minds ("no kids - double income") there was another decrease. The younger people here don't get a steady job (if they get a job at all). A lot of people work for a minimum wage which is not enough due to high rents and other costs. "Nobody" can afford children or they are too selfish. So this wil cause a big problem with our social system (health care, pension system, etc.).
