Android Question b4a compatibility

[robert black]

i know i keep on but i still yearn for an android developement kit to equal the old basic4ppc whereby
programmeing could be done anywhere

here's my question .... can the windows 86xx (64 bit ) B4A be used to develope android software on a windows 8 tablet

many thanks

The windows-tablet is runnign windows, right?
B4A creates native android apps. I believe it will not run under windows(RT)...
Maybe the tablet can run B4J-Apps; in this case you can use the free dev-tool B4J to write java-apps (executable jar)...

What says the specs about the cpu? See this info about WinRT.

But if it is a normal windows 8.1 then you should be able to run:
B4A - Apps will run on Android only
B4I - Apps will run only on an iOS device (iPhone/iPad)
B4J - Apps will run on the tablet too (executable jar files)

the LINK 10" tablet boasts a full windows 8.1 o/s with an Atom Z3735g processor, not saying this is particularly
good but it may be an answer to the ongoing transition i have been wanting to make from b4p tp b4a
as at the moment i am struggling with an ailing hp ipaq 214 using b4p and need to make the jump
porting all my software to android and therefore hopefully use the widows tablet to address the mobile programming
functionality that i have enjoyed for many years

hopefully i have made my situation clear if you can direct me any more your thoughts would
be most helpful -- it seems now is the time to get on the learning curve of b4a i did buy a licence at the intial release
of the software but due to its immobility never exercised it --- time to take the plunge !!

many thanks for your help

Sounds like the tablet is good to develop with.

Time to renew your subscription and get an update to B4A 4.0

PS: Welcome back
