Bug? b4a has stopped working

Hello B4A community.

I have an interesting occurrence. B4a is installed as normal, yet when I double click on the icon placed on the desktop by the installer I get the "B4A has stopped working... windows is checking for a solution to the problem" dialog box. Its not a problem, but just a slight annoying because if I go to my b4a project and double click on ANY .b4a source - It launches perfectly!

I just thought I would bring it up to the community.

My System is a Win 8.1 / Java 1.8

The shortcut most probably points to the old executable from a previous installed version. Right click on it to check whether it points to b4a.exe (new) or basic4android.exe (old).

I had the same problem today after upgrading to 5.2, see screen shot (Windows 7 64 bit). I can confirm the above sorted it out.

I also had another error. I saw this is Basic4Android, VMware and Notepad++. The error message was:

The program can’t start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

The solution was to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
