It seems that the only way I can get it to work at the moment is to add a background panel to each pane in the splitpane and use two TextEngine instances. Click to expand... This is never needed. Just call BBCodeView.TextEngine = YourTextEngine. There could be cases where the BBCodeViews aren't reachable from the root view.
