Android Question Change app from pay to subscription

Not B4X but it is android so hoping someone can help.

My app is on Google Play Store and has always had 2 levels.
Customers would purchase the base version of my app then subscribe for additional features.
I want to change it to 100% subscription only.

I know how to do this within the app but not sure on what or how to change Google play store to only let people subscribing to download the app.
Any suggestions welcome.

I guess you don't need to do anything on the Play store part besides mentioning it's subscription only.

You just offer an empty app and enable parts when they subscribed via in-app purchase.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Make it a free app.
I released the base version free for a while and got a lot of one star reviews because they had to pay for the additional features. I just want to try to avoid that happening as google wont do anything about it.
