Clarification of note added to a thread about admob

    Am I correct in my understanding that the mentioned request for user consent only is required for apps marketed in the EU? For instance, if you wanted to market your app only in North America, this modification is not required?

    That's true. There is a delicate point about EU citizens outside of EU area. Based on my understanding you do not need to ask consent in that case.

    I'm not an authority on this topic, but based on my understanding GDPR is applicable for EU citizens regardless of where they are physically. So, according to my understanding, you can't exclude the EU and think all is good. On one hand I'd recommend doing more research. On the other hand I doubt anybody would care a whole lot. It might come down to how risk-averse you are.

    I should point out that I am not a lawyer.
