Hello everybody
After starting today with b4a, i got to run the Hello World App in the Emulator very quickly. How could I get now to run the App in my real htc desire device. The usb debugging on the device is activated, but i got the message from b4a: no device found. Is it mandatory to use the b4a bridge application? or is there any other possibility.

Thank for any help for the newbie

You don't need the bridge if you have the usb lead attached as the B4A ide will find the attached device and ask you if you want to install to it.

To use the bridge your htc needs to be connected to the wireless network your computer is connected to, you download the b4a bridge app for your htc from the android market and run it. Click start button when it runs.

It will give you an ip address then just go to the bridge option in the B4A ide and choose connect and type in the address your htc gave you.

Or if you don't like these options you could of course copy the apk to your sd card and install it from there.

Thanks Dave, but the problem is that the B4A IDE does not find any device. Maybe there is problem with detecting the phone by my OS Win7: After connecting the USB i only see the SD Card as Disk. How should the IDE know, that there is a Android Phone attached ?

I had that problem with connecting a computer to my phone before I upgraded to Android version 2.2 and if I recall correctly I had to switch off an option in the phones settings menu that told the phone to act as a mass storage device when connected via usb. Sounds like you just need to find that setting and un tick it.

Case solved, it was a problem with the ADB Driver. There was a exclamation sign in the Win7 Device Manager. Look here how to correctly install the driver: (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-faq/76696-how-setup-adb-windows-7-64bit-should-also-work-32bit.html). Following exactly this procedure did the trick for me.
Thanks everybody
