Android Question Debug Modes

Not sure why but one of my projects would only run in release or debug legacy mode; i.e. would not run in debug rapid mode.
With version 5.80 there only seems to be one option which I assume is the equivalent of debug rapid as my project has stopped running again.
Is there a way to invoke the debug legacy mode in the latest version?
