If you search for word-lists used by (old) spell-checkers such as ISpell, PSpell, MySpell, ASPell e HunSpell, you can find many word lists in various languages.
Many years ago I wrote a spelling-checker (which also proposed suggestions) in Basic4PPC and I learned a lot about the different methods and algorithms to do this. Here is an old thread (in Italian) discussing it. I don't know what you want to do but nonetheless you might find it an interesting read...

The one I use is the official Scrabble list. Find it by Googling for SOWPODS.txt, from here here.
