Morning,

I have the latest installed (2.52) but when I try to start up the emulator for 8, 9, 10 or others it sits. I can hear the system trying to work it but I never get an emulator.

Thanks,
R

Steve05, you would be surprised how many time I have done this. I have installed it the way I have it on my laptop to no avail. So in face of failure, I went back to basics and got it all in. The AVD came up with just API 12 in it and the Readme told me to execute the SDK Manager from command line. Here is the result.

SDK not recognized. AVD not recognized.

I need help from the developers.

How did it tell you to run the SDK, can you run the AVD from within B4A?. (Tools menu)

I can run the AVD from the >Tools menu but it doe not do anything. I can see in the Android directory that the only platform that exists is Android-17. I need Android-8 at least for the moment.

Thanks for the help you are supplying.

BTW: I have stripped out this machine and reinstalled everything per the Tutorials with no luck

In AVD manager select the tools/ manage SDK option, from there you should be able to install more platforms.

Not sure the status of your problem, if you already fixed.

But just an idea:

For me I gave up the emulator, too slow, and sometimes disappear.

I am using virtualbox with BuildDroid (they changed the name for AndroVM)

Get instructions here: Redirection

Much faster, compatible, just works, and you can create many vms easy.
