Hi guys and girls...

The online browser based Google Maps app allows for a map to be "saved" for offline usage.
Has anyone achieved this with b4x and current gmaps lib ?

I havn´t seen any extension to make googlemap work offline. Googlemap needs Access to Internet. You can add your own tiles but they must exists Online too.

From what I read, we can save maps (tiles?) That we have visited ...
So what I imagine;
I know for a fact that I will be visiting an area where I will NOT have internet, so I visit this zone before hand in gmaps, and save it... then I can use this saved map offline. This is the basic operation in the browser based gmap app...
I would like to use such approach with the b4x gmap lib...

Yes? How? I do not know any method for doing this with googlemaps library. Especially on how to provide offline-URLs for them.

Please note that android googlemaps is very different from the web map.

Qell, that was my question... and you've just answered it.

I know, that why explicitly mentioned this was a browser feature.

Maybe this?

It shows a way to use a tileprovider and grab the Tiles from Google.
Need to test if this still works.
