Android Question Google Analytics - Custom Dimensions

Hi,
I have a client who want to use Custom Dimensions tracking in their mobile app.
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/android/v4/customdimsmets

The Analytics library does not provide this by default. Is it possible to do this via java?

BTW, I have posted the similar question in the iOS forum as the app needs to be created for both languages.

@Computersmith64 , there isn't a function on the AnalyticsTracker class called sendevent. Can you provide a larger sample?
