Hi all,

I'm preparing QuiQRun! for the Google Play store and I'm wondering about the following things:

1. I'm not able to set the Application Rating to 'Everyone'. Its set to 'Low maturity'. According to google:
Applications rated everyone must not ask users for their location. Apps that access location data must be rated low maturity or above. Apps that publish or share users' location with others must be rated medium maturity or high maturity.

Apps rated everyone must not host any user generated content or enable communication between users. Apps that focus on allowing users to find each other and communicate should be rated medium maturity or high maturity.
In my app I check your current location to generate a QR code. Would this be the reason its rated as 'Low maturity'? What is the impact of not being rated 'Everyone'? Does this mean you can't reach a lot of people or is this more as a 'suggestion to the user'?

2. Some people are helping me with testing a translating and I wonder if it is somehow possible to give them the full version of QuiQRun! for free as a (small) reward? Can I add them somehow in the console so if they 'buy' it, they don't get charged?

Thanks for the info!

1: You are right. If your app needs location permissions it is automatically rated at least "Low maturity". In the Google Play app you can set a filter to filter out apps with these criteria though I haven't heard that someone really uses this feature.

2: As I know this is not possible with the PlayStore. You can only implement your own key system and if a user has a valid key don't access the licensing service.

Thanks for the info @corwin42 ! Makes sense so I shouldn't probably worry about (1). About (2), I just thought there used to be a place where you could add up to 400 email addresses that had special rights and I thought I maybe could use this. However, I don't find it back in the current console anyway.

@andymc I was indeed thinking the same, I just don't know if they will receive the updates from Google Play later on.

You can add GMail accounts in the settings which will receive a predefined licensing response.
Problem is that (as I know) this is global for all of your apps and you can't play with the response (for testing) because everyone will then get the probably wron response.
