How God creates a robot!

Can you buy a pain sensor from Amazon to make your robot feel pain? Now picture this:
Assuming the total area of average human skin is 4m^2.. now pinch any place with a needle head.. the brain not only will sense
the pain, but will precisely define where in the skin area the pinch was, and will sense the pressure applied to the needle, and will sense how deep the needle travelled in the body, and will sense the degree of temperature of the needle. all this in area in the micrometer range.. Now imagine two needles pinched two places in the same skin, but with different values of the above parameters.. the brain will sense all these values including the exact locations of the needles. If we thought that there are sensors in that area, now calculate how many sensors we have in our skin. Again, imagine instead of a needle, we used a rectangular shaped heated metal, the brain will sense the exact area covered by the heated metal piece.
How about the other sensors? smell, hearing, sight.. etc. you see a photo of a person, your brain sensors know the color, the size of the picture, compare it on the fly to a database and if found a match recognize it as Mr. Joe (but he looks older now) and your brain also may know if the person in the photo is worrying about something.
If you were born 40 years ago, then everything you saw, you smell, you heard, you knew, you experienced.. all are recorded in real time in HD full color video and stereo, and ALL are saved simultaneously, in every second of your life your brain records the video, audio, kind of smell (gas analysis and save results) heat.. all in real time. If after 10 years you smelled something you remember the place and the beautiful girl you were talking to at that (evening) in Starbucks where it was a little cold and where Beethoven Symphony was playing and a few people were there.
All of the above is a tiny fraction of the capabilities of this God created robot.
Now think about those who compares human mind with a computer.
 
Eh, I don't think God created perfection. For example, he could have given us a pair of wings.

Skin? Well, unfortunately we can feel pain and suffer burns; for this reason Robots will have advantages (entering a house on fire and saving children/people, for example).


I'm still wondering why God created me so badly ? ???

(With respect for everyone's religious beliefs) I like to think of it from another perspective.

We are 'only' the result of thousands and thousands of years of evolution (this still leaves the door open to believe that someone just created everything or not).
Only in the recent years (a really insignificant fraction of our existence) we have technologically evolved and provided ourselves with tools and knowledge to build and 'simulate' what we like to call intelligence. Most of this logic or the hardware supporting was and still is mostly binary, which is not how our body/mind works. Fuzzy logic since some decades ago, and quantum technology are steps into the direction to simulate/understand the real world beyond the binary-based logic.

If we look at how fast everything is exponentially evolving, I won't see anything special (in a near future), in having millions of sensors in a synthesized carbon-based skin wrapper, and the ability to store billions of primary (or derived) data per second from these sensors. Of course, they will not be Arduino sensors purchased from Aliexpress, but carbon-based --> in fact we are so near to be able to replicate all this part.

As I see it, the ONLY thing that makes us really special and difficult to replicate is not the capability to acquire, process, store and analyze this 'data', but the capability to 'feel' this data, and be able to take totally stupid -from the 'logic' sense of view- decisions based on it, resulting that some times they even turn to be the right ones :). Or perhaps it is because of a bad design? :eek:

How big memory is needed store an HD video with stereo audio for streaming for 10 days.. I just wanted to take a breath to get ready for the next question! How big memory is needed to to save the same AV streaming for 50 years without pause? Then how much processing power is needed to fetch a 2 seconds audio clip heard 10 years ago at the evening of December 23 2001 at 7:21:56 pm? (healthy human brain fetches it in less than a second)
Back to that electronic skin, human brain recognizes the kind of pain, if the same pressure is applied to human skin, (even if the person is blind-folded) he will sense the source of the pressure and if it was from a lover for example he will not fee pain bout joy, while of the same pressure came from a foe he will feel pain. it's not just the pressure sensor only, but the human pressure sensor outputs a number of parameters beside just a pressure.. if the heat is felt during winter it's welcome otherwise it's painful. Remember we are still talking about the outskirts of human brain and senses capabilities..

Very well spoken and explained. My approach towards what all people on earth call god (no matter what religion they believe in) is rather scientific than religious. I do believe where there is a law that drives the situations and facts on a given way based on this law, there definitely has to be a law maker. On the other hand I believe that this is all he has done and then "told" us: "here is my legal frame (laws of physics). Get it and exploit it. Live by this, die by this, protect yourself by this, heal yourself by this, educate yourself both by this and from this". What I believe can be seen clearly in the way we hear (which argument advocates to your words: "...the result of thousands and thousands of years of evolution - this still leaves the door open to believe that someone just created everything or not").

Let's make an experiment. Sit on a chair and form with your right hand a fist. Now press the upper part of your leg over the knee with this fist with a certain amount of force and remember this amount. Now open your index finger and press again your fit with the same amount of force as before with the index finger. When do you feel more pain on this part of your leg? This is what pressure is (force divided by the area this force is exerted against). Now see the following video and you can understand how the tiny movements of your ear drum are multiplied to bump on the lavirynth and create what you hear. If this is not intelligent design by laws of the universal law maker then what is...
