how to easily install apk

if I need to install my app on a device and

- the apk is NOT in the android market but I distribute only the apk file
- I haven't the b4a environment installed on the customer PC (of course)

I mean: I give only the apk file, taken from (my developing environment)\(MyApp source folder)\Objects\MyApp.apk


first question: is it right? is it THAT file? can I send that file by email?


so what?
When he (my customer) plug the device via usb, should he install a specifc driver to upload and execute the apk file? or what?
or how can I tell to my device "hey Androguy! install this!"

I haven't the device yet, but I would like to know if any device will be OK

As long as you have compiled the app with your key it will install on any android device with Android version 1.6 or higher.

It is easier to upload the app to the market as most people have the android market installed but you can also distribute your apk file from a website or yes by email.

However a lot of people cannot install from apk files that are sent by email so best method is either the market or a website.

And yes it is the apk file

Also make sure that your customer has enable non market installations (Settings - Applications - Unknown sources).
