You can play a game that is given the chance to capture an early Pokémon between Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and possibly Pikachu. The protagonist can encounter and capture wild Pokémon in the real environment or face them within gyms spread across the territory. You can get Poké Ball and other tools using the game coins, which can be purchased within the application, or by getting them from PokéStop.

Do you like the idea?

PS. You can base a game on the reality of increasing GPS navigation

I got the sarcasm in the previous answer...
I guess what @Star-Dust meant was, there's no magical answer...
There are however methods to help come up with an idea...

The main one is BRAINSTORMING!
Gather a bunch of kids within the age range you've like to target your game at.
Let them express what kind of games they play, what they like about them, and mostly what they would change or add to them.
Them with all that info, and a good notion of your real skills, start putting scenarios into paper... and the game base will arise from it.
Another, less scientific, approach, is to create a character and build the game into it... (I made no mistake there!)

I'm thinking to a new game. It needs a special "controller": a soccer ball in which to place your smartphone.
Then, you will kick the ball. What else? Nothing. :p

How to get new ideas? Recalling the past.
Lying on the bed, with eyes closed, and remember your childhood.
Or watch old movies and shows.

Lastly, it would be better to create porn apps or gambling with real money (obviously do not publish them on Google Play).

No, another chance: create development tools for so many app developers (dreamers).

sometimes a good idea pops up out of nothing but till the time I reach a computer to write it down it's already gone again.

you can look around in your real world (newspaper puzzles, old games) and with a bit of luck it doesn't exist on the store yet
but this doesn't mean you're opening a goldmine's door.

some app companies have brainstorm teams to come up with new ideas. more people might lead to new/better ideas.

Simple answer:
Be a gamer yourself.
Get inspired by what you are playing or make a better game out of it.

Why games only?

I dream that every "consumable object", especially drugs but also food, has a subtle label; "double-click" on the label and your smartphone-server updates the "stock store" and the time of the update (this will remind you to have already ingested the drug; your smartphone warns you that it's time for your pills).

Every minute of the day I get a game idea. But have no time to write the game! I've played games for thirty years on twenty different platforms from an 8 bit amstrad through to modern VR on a PC. Anything can be a game, from mowing lawns to splatting spiders. Most ideas can be skinned to different themes too to make more games based off each idea. It's just a matter of keeping the game simple and not overthinking it. Look at the most popular games on mobile, they all have one or two gameplay mechanics and a simple story if any.

Something I do, I keep a notes app on my phone and use it to write down any game ideas or features for games I think of during the day. I've ended up with nearly a hundred game ideas. No time to do them, but all could be done in less than a month each if I could work full time on them.

I believe I have a very good and new game idea, but not quite sure if it's appropriate to publish here.. People don't take the wrong exit! It's not about that. I also have a killer name for that game that can be branded.
