This is a longshot, but maybe… I have noticed on my devices: Android 2.2, 4.03, and 4.1.2 that the 2.2 and 4.0.3 show logs when compiled for Release or Debug, but my 4.1.2 only shows logs when compiled for Debug, not Release.
