OMG, how did I not know about this! This is the single greatest thing since finding out the F4 command in Excel for absolute cell references!

Yes, it is GBoard only, as far as I have found out.
Also scroll 'backspace' highlights and deletes lines.

... and Im "pretty" sure (damned memory ) that I tried to install the GBoard on my old devices and it was not possible (android <5).
