Indirect access to variables

We already have indirect access to controls by means of the Control keyword and indirect access to Subs by the CallSub keyword. How about having indirect access to global variables by a Global keyword - something along the lines of

varname = "module.globalvar"
value1 = Global(varname)

varname = "anothermodule.globalarray(0)"
value2 = Global(varname)

For external libraries B4PObject(3) returns a "globals" struct for legacy apps and null for an optimised compiled app. If B4PObject(3) could return an htGlobals (similar to htSubs and htControls) that would be useful even if it only worked on optimised compiled apps where it doesn't look too difficult to bolt on.

I would also be interested in this indirect access.

In my multilanguage programs with modules i would like to read text arrays.

A suggestion for the Global function:
Global(ModuleName,VariableName)

And why not for arrays:
Global(ModuleName,VariableName,Index1,Index2,...)

Hello

Currently I have the same "problem", I need to access the contents of a variable. The name of the variable is stored in another variable.

So I went here and searched for a solution for my problem, but as I have found this thread I am afraid there is currently no solution :-(

So I am also voting for a possibility to access "normal" variables by name, just like the Control()-Function makes it possible for controls

Maybe you can use the Hashtable control (which is now an internal control) to store the keys and values instead of storing it in variables.
