However, it can be quite useful in some cases.
I bought a 4 TB NVME SSD a few months ago at a really good price. I now wanted a second one and realized that SSD prices have risen significantly in recent months. Last week I got my 4 TB drive for almost the same price as the first model, a saving of over 40% (127 €) on the current price.

I found price of SSD has dropped 40% since I bought last year.

That is correct so far, prices fell sharply from 2022 to 2023. However, they have been rising again significantly for a few months now.

because they could feel Black Friday approaching? ?

or could be coincidental
That is not correct. There is a general price increase for RAM and SSD. This is because some manufacturers of memory modules have reduced their production, but demand remains high.

1. It is "in no way intended to sound anti-American" and yet that is exactly what it achieves.

2. If you don't want to buy something on "Black Friday", don't. What kind of fool only buys something because it happens to be on sale? But if you are in the market for some widget and it happens to be 30% cheaper today than it was yesterday, only a fool would ignore it because the sales event is annoying.

3. Do you really get so much rubbish from the USA? It seems most everything is made in China, even if an American company happens to brand the box.

I agree with you and if I hurt you somehow, sorry for this. But it may a little bit out of context from what I initially meant. Additionally, it is the chit-chat of the community, an off-topic part. You feel hurt? Ok. So imagine you are in several other forums called: TV, newspaper, radio advertising. Here you can switch off nor reading it, other media often not. And independing the source, it's all about black friday. What level annoyed are you then?

Topic 1: Anti-american? Well, it is about the fact that most other countries don't have a "real" black friday, nor halloween or thanksgiving. What do I get regularely on my cellphone and email? Advertising from Google, Amazon to buy things because it is halloween, black friday, cyber monday. So when it comes to Google, where is this company coming from and what is that company doing in opposite to the app-developers when it comes to regulations for a special country? So this is the thing annoying me. This kind of advertising culture I am pointing to, nothing else. Ok, global business is global business, but I don't think this is something for customers outside the US. In ten years nobody will ask any longer for it, because then it is worldwide culture. Thanks for this in advance, we were all in need for that without knowing.

Topic 2: I agree. But this is exactly what happens.

Topic 3: Rubbish from the US? As you said most of it comes from China. Maybe somewhere else assembled. Who cares? Quality is the point. And this is another global thing. It is not a problem of the US. Same is with "made in Germany"-things. Forget about it. It is only a "brand", nothing more.

So, be prepared for my CYBER MONDAY posting....

I am done with it, thank god it's over now. But christmas is coming soon. So don't forget to throw your new black friday smartphone through the window. The christmas smartphone is coming soon and it is much cheaper!

Peace to all of you.
