Android Question jrdc2

I tried jrdc2 by just downloading the sample. Using same wifi connection it works. But if different wifi connection the android phone dosnt connect. Is there any configuration or setup to be done in an android phone?

Your device must be connected to the same local network that the PC running jRDC2 server is connected.

You can of course run it on a computer that has a static ip address and is configured to be accessed through the internet.

For the android mobile can I install VPN to connect to the same network?

If the network is configured properly then it should work.
This is not really related to jRDC2. jRDC2 is a regular http server. If you can access its port then it will work.

If you connect the PC and the smartphone to the same LAN (Local Area Network) it should work without problems.

If you need to access from a WAN ( Wide Area Network ) you can do it in 2 different ways:

1st way: Ask your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for an Public IP so they can see you all over the world from the internet

2nd way: Rent a VPS (Virtual Private Server) and install your database and your jRDC2 service there
