Just in time layouts

Is it possible to load a layout into a panel defined in another layout? What I am trying to achieve is as the title says, just in time layouts.

I am getting to the editing part of a project which requires about 6 different selection screens with perhaps 30 options (as buttons) and a few additional menu options each. This is increasing the loading time, what I would like to to is to load a main editing view with options as to what is to be edited, then load a smaller layout file dependent on the choice. Rather than create them all in one file, which will take longer to load.

I am still struggling getting to grips with the designer past basic stuff, so I don't know if it's my ineptitude, or the fact that loading layouts within layouts is a no no.

If it's can't be done, it's going to have to be a canvas and images.

There is no problem with loading a layout to a panel defined in another layout. You will need to load the first layout before loading the second.

There is no difference between views added by loading a layout and views added programatically.

Ok Sorted it, would you believe I drew the panel in the wrong place and it was off the screen.:signOops:

On the same topic is it safe, memory wise, to load a different layout into a panel that already has one.

There is no memory related problem with loading a layout to a panel with an existing layout. However the previous layout will be kept as well.
