Electrical engineer specializing in
dirty brown coal power plant controls technology; (Someone has to do it)
- ABB Infi 90 control system (formerly Bailey Net 90)
- Plant data analysis and modelling using Matlab/Simulink
- On-line plant estimation and modeling using curve fitting neural networks
- Modelling of ABB and Siemens process control systems in C s functions (Simulink)
- Embedded ARM processors Analog Devices and STM32 for custom control elements and sim's
- Combustion optimization of Lignite fired plant to reduce greenhouse emissions and to improve costs.
- Developed custom instrumentation for power plant monitoring. Generator rotor flux measurement, vibration monitoring and electrical test sets.
- Design custom circuit boards for various applications, mixed signal and RF. You can see one of my designs on the STM web site:
Power System Monitor
- Done a bit of Qt programming but mainly use B4X for my PC apps and Android. Have done heaps of real-time C programming using freeRTOS, fatfs, LWIP, WiFi modems with RS232 link to embedded system. Use sqLite C amalgamation with the larger processors like the STM32H7 which has 1 M of fast RAM. Use sd Cards as the database media.
- Done heaps of Visual Basic for Application in the MS Access environment, both business apps and engineering.
- Also used MS SQL Server and mySQL.
I have a three legged cat, very cheeky as you can see by my Avatar. My son has another cat called Karl, with four legs. He is a dead ringer of Sylvester the cat that tries to eat Tweety Bird in the cartoon. I also have a pair of Cockatiels.
I live on three acres about 3 k north of the Toongabbie township on a property called
Toongabbie Light and Power with my wife and son.
