Android Question layout and gameview

Can I use gameview and layouts. Say i want to use the ui from layouts can i draw them ontop of gameview.

GameView is a regular view. You can put elements above it though it might affect the drawing performance.

OK ty for the response. I'm dabbling in it right now. I get errors any ways it locks up I think its loading my layout over and over instead of once

I'll figure it out.
