Android Question Mysql server has gone away error on a custom webview

Hello, in my application, the signup feature uses a webview that connects to a remote website, and I used some snippet here in order to support file input.

However, upon submission, this weird error occured (image below). I already searched for the solution already (apparently configuring some stuff in mysql and apache), but it doesn't really get resolved.

Strangely enough, when submitting thru a browser, it works fine. No errors.

Is there something I should configure in the app to fix this?

The error happens between the PHP code and the db server.

Worth checking the Apache(?) and MySQL logs.
