Android Question Need a sturdy solution for db access.

Hi everybody, I need to access a sql server from large number of android devices, maybe 500.000. The solutions are: direct access, JRDC and web service. I think that I can have peaks of 30.000 or more simple transactions per second.
Did anybody test such a big configuration. If yes can you give some hint?
