Android Question Numeric keyboard that does not have the dot.

I have a Samsung SM-T585 A tablet.

I believe the same thing happens as in this thread:

I am dealing with two Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 10 inch. One with 4G and one without. Both run the same app. 1. The one with 4G only displays a phone keyboard when the edittext box is expecting numbers with decimals. It does not show the decimal point. 2. The one without 4G displays the querty...

The keyboard does not display the dot, that would be necessary to enter decimals. In my app, that would be cents.

I tried using the full keyword, but there is no way to suppress bad entries such as non numerals.

I could come up with my own keyboard, but before I do so, perhaps the solution already exists.

Help!

It is a device related problem.

Install a different keyboard app (search for samsung keyboard)

That is what I would do for myself.

But I want the app to be self contained. Since users hardly read the manual, I am trying to avoid constant support requests.

Or, worse, angry reviews...
