Java Question Overloading of methods and constructors

is it possible to use overloading of methods and constructors in my custom java libary?

No. The constructor cannot accept any parameters. For methods you will need to use different names (Initialize, Initialize2, ...).

What do you think now about the possiblity to realize overloading in the near future? (When?)

In view of the fact that Java already knows overloading, is this still a big effort?

This question is about overloading in libraries. Not in Basic4android.

The effort required to add overloading is not related to Java at all.
It is not really an effort issue but more of a design issue.

Language changes should be done very carefully as you can never go back.

Oh sorry, I've found this thread by using the site search. (I wanted to avoid a duplicate thread.)

In general you're right about changing the language. But IMHO overloading adds only new functionality without effecting any already written B4A code.
