iOS Question Page1.RootPanel.Color not working [resolved]

This is probably something really, really simple ... but I am at a loss.

I can change the colour of the page in the designer, but not the code.

For the example below, why is my page background not changing to red?

    NavControl = Nav
 
    Page1.Initialize("Page1")
    Page1.Title = "Arnold by Stingrae"
    Page1.RootPanel.Color = Colors.Red
    Page1.RootPanel.LoadLayout("lytMain")

    pagLogIn.Initialize("pagLogIn")
    pagLogIn.Title = Page1.Title
    pagLogIn.RootPanel.Color = Colors.Red
    pagLogIn.RootPanel.LoadLayout("lytLogIn")

do it after the load layout, maybe it's (re)set during the load layout aswell.
