Android Question Ram consumption

Is this normal to have half a gig of ram consumed by java when I run Basic4Android and just have it open without doing anything?

B4A itself is a .NET program. Not sure if Java is only used for compiling or other things also. On my PC, the amount of Java ram consumption during a B4A session is about 80 KB.

That's logical.
I close the B4A application and java consumption disappears.

This java process is the "optimized dexer". It converts the referenced libraries to 'dex' format and waits for your code.

By default its max ram setting is 512mb. You shouldn't worry about it. If your computer has enough memory then it can grow up to 512mb.
