Android Question Remote Control for Android TV without adb ?

Is there a way to control android TV (eg increase or decrease volume) from b4x over local wifi network without using adb?
Eg: Mi Remote controller - for TV https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duokan.phone.remotecontroller&hl=en&gl=US is able to replicate its physical Dpad remote in the app.

Alternatively, is there a way to see what command the app sends to the TV over wifi?

PCAP+Wireshark (or similar solutions) let you spy on data traffic between source and destination.
That way you (hopefully) would understand the protocol used and mimic it in a new app made by you

Thank you for the advise. I used Packet Capture app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.greyshirts.sslcapture&hl=en&pli=1) to capture the data from Mi Remote app. I am trying to figure out what the data represent.
