Android Question Return to code as last one that compiled fine

Did a code replace that was meant to be only for the selected text, but happened for the whole module.
This was replace double quotes with single quotes.
Unfortunately this is a large module!
I didn't realise directly what had happened so started correcting by replacing (should have use the undo button!). Then after a while I realised this was the whole module.
Not sure now if I can correct all this by just clicking the undo button repeatedly, so will it reach the state of code where all was correct?
Is it possible to return to the code as it was with the last compile?
Thanks in advance to fix this serious trouble.

All fixed now from a autobackup file.
Not sure now if there is an auto-backup of the last file that compiled successfully.
If not then that would be useful.
