Wish SMB V2/3

I notice Google has released a Samba client that supports SMB2/3. I would REALLY like to see SMB lib (or new lib) that supports these protocols SMB1 is not secure and is turned off by default in Win10.

I need a solution for moving files off a windows share that does not involve any server configuration changes.

Sigh, I understand. As I understand it the source is available. I was hoping someone might glean enough from that to create a lib or update the existing one. I would tackle it if I was 30 years younger...

1. It will not be simple to create a library out of this.
2. The license is GPL which means that your app will also need to be open sourced.
